Ann Rosoff-Cappelletti is a realist painter and teacher who works out of her Artful Life Studio in Bethesda, Maryland.
Ann began her career as a research psychologist (neuropsychology) and yet has always identified as an artist. She has studied art over many years though classes, workshops, and independent study using a variety of media and transitioned to teaching art to young people full time in 1994. Over 10 years ago, she began painting almost exclusively with oil while studying with her most influential teachers--Natasha Mokina and Victor Pakhomkin, both graduates of the renowned Academy of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Ann strives to share her sense of beauty through her art. Her work is influenced by centuries of knowledge and skill exemplified by the great masters, though at the same time can show a decidedly contemporary viewpoint. Ann’s portraiture seeks to capture the essence and character of her subjects, and her landscapes and still lifes often celebrate the fleeting quality of life and the awesome power of nature.
Ann has exhibited her work at Winter Palace Studio and at the Touchstone Gallery in Washington, D.C.
